Our Beliefs

About God

We believe that God is the Creator of all. We believe that God is eternal, perfect, and good in every way.  We believe that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. We believe that God exists as Trinity, in three distinct persons, yet one God: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that this Triune is the Lord of all from everlasting to everlasting and is the keeper and sustainer of all things.

We believe that the Father mercifully concerns himself in the affairs of all men. That He is loving and good towards all He has made. We believe that the Father hears and answers prayer and that He saves from sin all those who come to Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only son and is the expression of God in human form. We believe that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, and that he was fully God and fully man. We believe that Jesus lived in sinless perfection and atoned for our sins through his death on the cross. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus from the dead and that in so doing that he is forever victorious over the curse of sin and death. We believe that all who believe in Him and put their trust in the work of Christ are declared righteous before God. We believe that Jesus ascended into heaven and will return to earth to gather His people and reign with them forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and was sent by God the Father to indwell all those who have put their faith in Jesus.  We believe that the Holy Spirit has been sent into our hearts to comfort us, counsel us, convict us toward righteousness, correct us from unrighteousness, convince us of our identity as God’s children, connect us to God in prayer, and commission us for ministry. The Holy Spirit empowers the believer with spiritual gifts for the purpose of serving God by being His witness, building His church, and blessing His people.

About Man and Salvation

We believe that mankind was created to live in a vital relationship with God and that we were created in the image of God with dignity and great value. However, We believe that mankind fell into sin (a breaking of God’s moral law) and in so doing have rebelled against God. As a consequence, all men are under condemnation, being sinners both by nature and choice.

We believe that God in his mercy and goodness, sent His Son Jesus to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins and He redeems us by His grace through faith in Christ. We believe that the blood Jesus shed on the cross has covered the sin of those who put their trust in Him through faith and repentance.

We believe that the gift of salvation includes the forgiveness of sin and restoration of fellowship with the Father.

We believe that salvation does not come from our good deeds. It is a free gift that can never be earned or deserved.

We believe that there is no other way for mankind to be saved except through the name and provision of Jesus Christ.

We believe that once a person is truly saved, they are sealed with the Holy Spirit and are secure in Christ. We believe that once salvation has been given to you, it can not be lost or taken.

We believe that those who have trusted Christ will reign with Him and inherit eternal blessing and that those who have not placed their trust in Him will reap eternal judgment.

About Scripture

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Bible is our standard and authority in all we do.

About the Church

  • We believe that all who place their trust in Christ are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into the family of God, the Church, of which Christ is the head.
  • We believe the church has both a universal expression, which is comprised of all those who believe in Christ as their Lord and Savior, and a local expression, which is comprised of believers who are called together for the purpose of worshiping God and making disciples.
  • We believe that the Lord’s supper or communion is open to all those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ and that it is a special time of reflection, repentance, and rejoicing in God’s great love for us.
  • We believe that water baptism is the immersion in water of those who have put their faith in Christ. We believe that water baptism is the command of our Lord Jesus Christ and is symbolic of the transformed life, as well as our belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
